Three students from Rosebud School in Idimu, Lagos, were expelled after their father, Ayofe Kolawole, physically assaulted a teacher and a sanitary worker on October 10, 2024. The school’s Public Relations Officer, Vivian Shonekan, confirmed the expulsions following a viral video showing Kolawole attacking Agnes Paul while teacher Elizabeth Ogri filmed the incident for safety. Kolawole directed his aggression toward Ogri when he noticed she was recording.

Shonekan stated that despite Kolawole’s family returning to apologize and seek a settlement, the school decided to expel his three children without reconsideration. Agnes Paul, the assaulted sanitary worker and a mother of four, described ongoing health issues from the attack, including nighttime coughing and chest pain. She noted that while the school has been covering her hospital bills, she requires further medical tests.

The incident began with a misunderstanding when one of Kolawole’s children felt unwell. Teacher Elizabeth Ogri provided first aid by closing windows and turning off the fan, but Kolawole later accused her of using a “black substance” on his child, misunderstanding kernel oil she had applied to treat a whitlow. Despite Ogri’s explanations, Kolawole insisted she sign a statement claiming the oil was not fetish. After initially refusing, she signed under pressure, which led to the violent confrontation captured in a viral video.

Kolawole was arrested and arraigned in court on October 22 for charges of physical assault, as confirmed by Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin.
