Nigerian Woman Whose Teenage Boy Died On School Trip In UK Says No Answer Has Been Given By Police

Taiwo Oluwagbenga is seeking answers after her 17-year-old son Samuel drowned during a school trip in early July. Samuel, who was with 49 classmates from Uxbridge College at West Wittering in West Sussex, struggled in the water and was taken to St Richard’s Hospital by air ambulance, where he later died.

Despite the tragic event, Oluwagbenga claims she has not received any information from the authorities or the school about her son’s death. Samuel, who had been in the UK for just a year, had quickly adapted to his new life, making friends, attending church, and coaching futsal.

Samuel Oluwagbenga, who excelled in IT and aimed to study the subject at university, was deeply supportive of his mother Taiwo. Despite being a single parent, Samuel took on responsibilities like cooking, caring for his brother, and helping Taiwo with her asthma.
