A devastating bus crash in South Africa claimed the lives of 45 people when the bus plummeted approximately 50 meters off a bridge into a ravine in the northeastern Limpopo province. Among the victims were pilgrims traveling from Gaborone, Botswana, to an Easter service in Moria. The only survivor, an eight-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries but is now in stable condition. The crash resulted in a massive rescue operation, with only nine bodies identified out of the 34 recovered. Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga extended condolences to the affected families and pledged government support for repatriating the bodies and investigating the cause of the accident.
