March 5 2024- The Kentucky House passed a bill aimed at addressing unruly behavior on school buses by requiring student and parental adherence to transportation policies and establishing clear consequences for misbehavior. The bill, which received a 93-1 vote in the House, is intended to provide relief to bus drivers by setting expectations for students and parents. The discussion highlighted issues in Kentucky’s largest school system, particularly in Louisville, where a sickout by bus drivers in November led to the cancellation of nearly 100 routes, with student behavior identified as a significant concern. The bill will now move to the Senate for consideration
