The Women and Child Development Ministry announced plans to introduce a national curriculum for early childhood care and education for children aged three to six years, alongside a framework for early childhood stimulation for those from birth to three years. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, the initiative emphasizes the critical role of early childhood in shaping a child’s future, aiming to enhance India’s early childhood care and education system given that 85% of brain development occurs before the age of six years.
