The parents of a 3-year-old boy with autism, named Aziel, expressed gratitude for Officer Evan Myers of the Fort Wayne Police Department, who rescued their son from drowning in a neighbor’s pool. Last Sunday, while preparing brunch, the boy wandered off after a friend failed to secure the latch on the door. Concerned after searching the neighborhood, his parents called the police for help. Officer Myers, after hearing a cry, discovered Aziel floating on his back in an above-ground pool two houses away. He quickly rescued the boy, a moment captured on body camera. The parents noted that Aziel is drawn to water, which contributed to the urgency of the situation.
