Public Service Commissioner Sir Brian Roche is blaming the teachers’ union for instigating this week’s high school strikes, saying it had not even put up a counter-offer. Last week, members of the Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) voted to reject the government’s latest offer and begin rolling strikes targeting different year groups every day.
