Staff Members Stood Down After Toddler Left alone Inside Perth Daycare Centre After it Closed

< 1 min read

An investigation is underway at Busy Bees daycare in Mirrabooka, Perth, after a 16-month-old child was left asleep inside the center after closing time. The mother, arriving before the center’s official closing time, found the facility locked and lights off, eventually waiting outside for 40 minutes before staff returned. The child was unharmed, but two staff members have been stood down as the center reviews its policies and procedures. Busy Bees is cooperating with the state’s Education and Care Regulatory Unit and will implement recommended measures. The Department of Communities emphasized that it investigates all complaints and takes necessary actions. The center had previous issues, including a fine in 2021 and a needle incident in April.
