The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reiterated the need to end infant malnutrition, particularly in northern Nigeria. This call was made by the Bauchi Field Office during a two-day media dialogue on age-appropriate complementary feeding for children aged 6-23 months. The event, held in Gombe State, included journalists from Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau, Taraba, and Adamawa States. UNICEF Nutrition Specialist Philomena Irene emphasized the importance of proper infant and young child feeding for survival and healthy development, following a field trip to Kaltungo local government where women were taught how to produce complementary children’s foods.
