Despite his wealth, he lives modestly, driving a simple car and residing in the same Omaha home for over 65 years, which he bought in 1958 for $31,500. Buffett has committed to giving away more than 99% of his fortune during his lifetime or after his death.
Buffett’s Omaha home, built in 1921, has appreciated to about $1.34 million, yet remains modest for the world’s sixth-richest person. He regards it as his third-best investment, following wedding rings, reflecting his belief that success is not measured by wealth. In a talk to University of Georgia students, he emphasized that true success is determined by the importance of relationships with others.
