Police operatives in Niger State have arrested a 19-year-old boy, Yakubu Tanko for allegedly killing his friend & dumping the body in a septic tank.

Incident Overview:
It was reported that the suspect entered 14-year-old Sikiru Tajudeen’s room in the Tundun Fulani area of Minna and hit him with a stick he took from the kitchen. The suspect claimed the victim asked him to charge his phone and this led to the suspect deciding to kill him to take the phone. Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun stated that the victim was reported missing on March 20, having disappeared the day before. His school uniform trousers, a stick, and a stone with suspected blood stains were found in his room. Later that day the community reported a strange smell coming from a septic tank. Upon investigation with the police, a tied sack containing the lifeless body of Sikiru Tajudeen was discovered and removed from the tank.
