This past January 20th, I reflected deeply on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the profound motivations that guided his life’s work. His iconic “I Have a Dream” speech reminds us that the fight for justice and equality is not just for today but for the future we wish to create for our children.

Dr. King’s parents laid the foundation for his determination and resilience, teaching him the values of love, equality, and justice despite the injustices of their time. This nurturing shaped his vision for a world where children could thrive without prejudice—a world fit for all.

As parents, leaders, and citizens, the responsibility to build such a society rests with us. It begins with envisioning a better future as a legacy for the next generation and taking bold steps toward justice, fairness, and equity.

In the full article, I reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, the lessons from his life, and how these principles continue to inspire us to action.
