Lincoln-Marti School Teacher Caught Slamming and Hitting 2-Year-Old Girl
A disturbing case of child abuse has surfaced at Lincoln-Marti School in southwest Miami-Dade, where a teacher was caught on surveillance video physically abusing a 2-year-old girl.
According to reports, 21-year-old Merlin Gutierrez attacked the child on December 9 at around 8:30 a.m., grabbing, shaking, dragging, and repeatedly slapping her across the head and body. In the shocking footage obtained by NBC6, the little girl can be heard screaming and crying as Gutierrez continues to hit her.
Gutierrez pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse and was sentenced to five years of reporting probation. As part of her plea deal, she will not be considered a convicted felon but must complete an anger management course and undergo a mental health evaluation.
