Abortion rates among married women in Nigeria are rising, attributed to factors like inflation and economic concerns. Many women choose abortion to prevent additional financial strain on their families due to increasing costs. Family planning methods like DMPA-SC self-injectable contraception are available to help women manage spacing pregnancies. In Niger State, a growing number of women have embraced self-injection methods for birth control, indicating acceptance and success in managing reproductive health. The Delivering Innovation in Self-care (DISC) project aims to expand services and training for healthcare workers in promoting family planning and self-care options.
