He noted the dominance of authors like David Walliams in the children’s book market, whose success has prompted publishers to produce imitations rather than fostering diverse storytelling. Despite his own success with the Alex Rider series, Horowitz questioned whether such a series would find similar success if launched today. He also revealed a fear of dying before completing his latest book, ensuring its ending is safely stored in case of an untimely demise.
