Centenary University in Hackettstown, New Jersey, will freeze its tuition rates at $37,732 for the upcoming academic year due to delays in processing federal financial aid forms. The delays, caused by recent changes to the FAFSA form, have created uncertainty about financial aid amounts, especially for first-generation college students. Centenary is also freezing room costs but will increase meal plan prices by 6% due to rising food costs. Most students at Centenary receive significant financial aid, with incoming first-year students averaging over $28,000 in grants or scholarships. This follows a similar move by Georgian Court University in Lakewood, which has also frozen tuition and expanded its financial aid programs to support students facing financial challenges.
