UNO will not have Fall Commencement Ceremonies

< 1 min read

The University of New Orleans (UNO) will no longer hold a fall commencement ceremony due to budget cuts and a significant decline in enrollment, which has created a financial shortfall. UNO President Kathy Johnson announced that starting in 2025, the university will only hold a spring commencement ceremony. December 2024 graduates will receive their diplomas in December but are invited to participate in the spring 2025 ceremony. This change aligns UNO with practices at other local institutions and aims to address financial constraints, though it may affect students with out-of-state or international families.
