The Guam Education Board has declared a state of emergency for the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) due to delays in health inspections for public schools. The start of classes, initially set for August 8 and then postponed to August 15, might be further delayed to August 22 or 23 to allow more time for schools to pass these inspections. Schools that have already completed their inspections are still scheduled to open on August 15. Final opening dates will be confirmed by Friday.
