A homework assignment from Skiatook High School is drawing criticism for its content and appropriateness. The assignment, given in a world history class, asked students questions such as “How did the world start?” and “What does it mean to be a Christian?” which some, including parent Olivia Gray, found inappropriate and lacking a clear rubric or structure. Gray expressed concern that the assignment implied a religious perspective and was culturally insensitive, particularly given the school’s location on Osage Nation land. Skiatook Public Schools acknowledged that the assignment did not comply with their standards.
