The author reflects on their experience with Ivy League education after completing a master’s program at Columbia University. Initially drawn to the prestige of Ivy League schools, they found the high costs of attendance daunting. Having studied in Mexico for their undergraduate degree, they took a substantial loan to pursue graduate studies in the U.S. While the academic quality and professors were impressive. However, the real value of the Ivy League experience emerged in the professional realm. The degree opened doors for job opportunities and networking, providing access to exclusive job fairs and a perception shift in how they were viewed by others.
