The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects, including a native doctor and a teenage girl, for their alleged involvement in the brutal murder of two siblings, Chizaram and Chidinma Onuche, both seven years old.

According to the police, the prime suspect, 27-year-old Aniekan Uko, lured the children to an uncompleted building in the Ogbodo Pipeline area of Rukpokwu, where he drugged and slaughtered them before collecting their blood.

A statement from the police revealed that Uko confessed to the crime, admitting he was instructed by a native doctor to provide fresh human remains and blood for ritual purposes. Officers also recovered key evidence, including a bottle containing the victims’ blood, a kitchen knife used in the killings, and an empty can of the sedative drink used to drug the children.

The suspects, including the native doctor Kingsley Opurum, 43, and Uko’s 19-year-old girlfriend Luis John Uwelemele, are currently in custody. The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, assured the public that justice would be served and urged residents to remain vigilant.

A lawyer assisting with the case, Linda Ojims, praised the swift police action and called for thorough prosecution, emphasizing that “justice for one is justice for all.”
