When the first bell rings at school, your student may not have access to their cellphone. School phone bans are starting to take effect this year, even though the new state law doesn’t start until next school year. When Woodstock middle and high school students walk through the front doors for their first day of class, they will be greeted with cases to lock their phones in. “To store their cellphone, Bluetooth headphones, Bluetooth watches in. They’re to be turned off, put in this device, and you don’t need any device to lock it. It’s as simple as pushing the pin in, and it’s locked,” said Aaron Cinquemani, the principal of Woodstock Union Middle and High School.
