Malik Ross fired the shot that killed 7-year-old Xavier Usanga in 2019. His confession came in federal court as part of a 2021 conviction on related embezzlement charges. However, he was never directly charged in the boy’s murder — until Thursday. Ross admitted that he and his aunt conspired to steal $50,000 in cash from a Garda World Logistics Inc. truck the day after Xavier was killed.
