Every child in conflict with the law has the right to fair treatment, legal representation, and rehabilitation, not punishment. The law emphasizes that detention or imprisonment of a child should be used only as a last resort and for the shortest possible period, ensuring that justice is administered in a manner that upholds the child’s dignity and potential for reintegration into society.
