Father Breaks Silence After Discovering Wife Allegedly Sexually Abused Their Daughter in Anambra
A father in Anambra State has said he was shocked to see a video of his wife allegedly sexually abusing their daughter, and that he was initially unable to believe what he saw.
Ikechukwu Onyeanyusi said he saw the video when he was on his way back from work. He said he confronted his wife right away, but she denied the allegation and said the video was created with artificial intelligence.
“I saw the video. It was my wife and I saw my daughter,” Onyeanyusi said in a video posted by the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare.
When he asked his wife, she insisted that the video was fake, he said. Later, the police officers came to the family’s house in Onitsha, searched the house and arrested her.
His wife later admitted the allegation in police questioning, Onyeanyusi said. He said that it was a devastating moment, that he became weak and didn’t know what was going on.
On September 10, the woman, who was identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, 36, was arrested after information was received about a video that was circulating online, police said. During the operation, four children aged 2, 3, 6 and 9 years were taken from the home.
Police also said that items of the investigation were recovered from the residence. Investigators are trying to determine the circumstances of the alleged abuse and if anyone else was involved.
Anambra First Lady Nonye Soludo has decried the allegations and promised to help the children, including medical and psychological treatment and rehabilitation.
The investigation is continuing.
