All Schools in Gombe to Close by Friday Over Safety Concerns

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has directed that all schools in Gombe State close on or before Friday, 28th November 2025, as a precaution against rising attacks and abductions in northern Nigeria. Parents are urged not to panic, and ongoing exams must be completed before closure.

A Taskforce Committee on School Revitalisation will soon assess schools to strengthen safety, infrastructure, and learning conditions. This proactive step underscores the government’s commitment to protecting students, teachers, and school administrators.

Recent attacks in Niger and Kebbi States, including mass kidnappings of students, have heightened security alerts nationwide, prompting similar protective measures in other regions.

Every child has the right to a safe and secure education, as stipulated under the law.
