Beiersdorf Nigeria, the makers of NIVEA, has taken a significant step in giving back to the community by donating over ₦16.4 million to The Dorcas Cancer Foundation to support children who have survived cancer. This generous contribution will fund the Back-to-School Fund, which aims to cover the tuition, books, uniforms, and other essentials for 15 children for an entire school year.

This initiative is more than just financial assistance, it is a symbol of hope and compassion for children who have had their education interrupted due to cancer treatment. Many of these children face significant challenges in returning to school after battling the disease, not just physically, but also due to the financial strain on their families caused by the cost of treatment.

Oladele Adeyole, Country Manager for Beiersdorf Nigeria, shared the company’s commitment to creating a more inclusive society through their “Care Beyond Skin” agenda, which promotes social and environmental change. He explained that due to the treatment process and financial constraints, many children miss out on schooling during their illness, and returning to school afterward becomes difficult for them.

The donation is aimed at helping these children resume their education and rebuild their dreams, empowering them to continue their academic journey without the added burden of financial barriers.

Beiersdorf’s campaign highlights the company’s dedication to making a tangible difference in the community, reaffirming that corporate social responsibility goes beyond just business goals, but also fosters meaningful and impactful change.
