Davido’s Father Presents DNA Evidence, Denies Paternity Claims in Long‑Running Saga
Dr Deji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has publicly addressed renewed paternity allegations involving a girl identified as Anu Adeleke, presenting DNA evidence to refute claims that the singer is her biological father. The clarification aims to end a dispute that has resurfaced and drawn significant public attention across social media and news platforms.
At a press conference in Lagos on January 21, Dr Adeleke shared official DNA test results, obtained in South Africa, with both families present, showing that Davido is not the father of the adolescent in question. He emphasised that the tests were legitimate and dismissed online claims suggesting the documents were fabricated.
The results were released amid a surge of social media activity, including posts from accounts believed to represent Anu and her camp calling for fresh testing “for final confirmation.” Dr Adeleke also criticised controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo, alleging she impersonated the girl online to intensify the dispute. He urged the public to exercise caution regarding misinformation in sensitive personal matters.
Davido himself has previously addressed the matter on social media, denying paternity and asserting multiple DNA tests had already been conducted, all returning negative results, a claim that has further fuelled public debate.
The mother of Anu, Ayo Labinjoh, has also issued statements disputing the handling and number of tests conducted, adding complexity to the narrative. Despite conflicting accounts from both sides, Dr Adeleke’s presentation of DNA evidence represents the most recent and formal public effort by Davido’s family to settle the controversy and protect their reputation.
