Escalating Tensions Disrupt Education in Iran and Israel

Amid escalating military tensions between Israel and Iran, both governments have taken significant steps affecting their education systems and everyday civilian life.
In Iran, the Education Ministry announced on Sunday that all schools and educational institutions are to remain closed until further notice. According to ministry spokesman Ali Farhadi, all scheduled exams across all levels of education have been postponed.
He assured students and their families that new exam dates will be announced once the situation stabilizes, and that any invalidated exam entry documents will be reissued without penalty.
Meanwhile, in Israel, the government has extended its state of emergency and internal restrictions through June 30, citing ongoing security threats. This decision was finalized during an online cabinet session, as reported by the Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot.
In response to the continuing unrest, Israel’s Education Ministry has shifted all learning activities to remote platforms. In-person exams have been canceled indefinitely, with no immediate timeline for their resumption.
These developments highlight the profound impact that regional instability is having on education in both countries.
