The Federal Ministry of Education has introduced Inspire Live(s), a nationwide real-time digital learning programme designed to broaden access to quality education for schoolchildren across Nigeria.

Announced in a statement by the Ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, the initiative is described as a major step toward ensuring that every Nigerian child can learn without barriers.

It aligns closely with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and seeks to address longstanding educational challenges, such as shortages of qualified teachers and frequent disruptions to learning.

According to the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, the full rollout of Inspire Live(s) has begun, with the programme set to cover learners from Primary 1 up to Senior Secondary 3. At present, the platform hosts real-time classes for junior and senior secondary school students, offering lessons from certified master teachers through Cisco Webex.

Classes are held Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The subjects available range from Mathematics, English Language, Basic Science, and ICT for JSS students, to Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, and Geography for those in SSS.

To support nationwide participation, the Ministry has directed state Commissioners for Education to appoint State Focal Officers, inform all public and private school principals about the programme, and ensure that designated schools are equipped with basic ICT facilities and internet connectivity.

Registration for the classes is to be carried out strictly by school principals through the Inspire support channels. The Ministry emphasized that the programme is open to both public and private schools across the country.

The Inspire Live(s) initiative strengthens the fulfillment of every Nigerian child’s right to quality and equitable education, as provided under the Child Rights Act of 2003.

By removing obstacles that prevent children from accessing learning, the programme supports the fundamental principle that every child has the right to learn, to thrive, and to reach their fullest potential, no matter where they live or what challenges they face.
