Four Children Among Six Killed in Pakistan School Bus Bombing

A suspected suicide bombing targeted a school bus in southwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, killing at least four children and two adults, the bus driver and his assistant. The attack occurred in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, near a school serving children of army personnel and civilians.

No group has claimed responsibility, but early investigations suggest a suicide bomber was behind the blast. Over two dozen others were injured, some critically.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused India of backing the militants responsible, stating: “Terrorists operating under Indian patronage attacking innocent children on a school bus is clear evidence of their hostility.”

The military echoed the accusation, calling the attack “planned and orchestrated by India.”

This comes just weeks after a brief but intense conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, sparked by an attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which India blamed on Pakistan. Pakistan denies involvement.

Balochistan’s Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed the casualties and condemned the targeting of children, calling it a cowardly act of terror.
