An Indiana community is in shock after three children under the age of 10 and their mother were found dead during a welfare check in Wolcottville. The deceased are 32-year-old Rebecca Hughes and her daughters, Evelyn (8), Allison (6), and Amelia (5). The Indiana State Police have not disclosed the cause of death but confirmed that their investigation indicates there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The father of the deceased children has created a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses, sharing a touching photo of them with Father’s Day cards. Jonathan Newell expressed that the children deserved more than he could provide, and the fundraiser quickly raised over $36,000. The investigation into their deaths is ongoing, with authorities awaiting the coroner’s and toxicology reports. The Wolcottville police have not commented on the situation.
