LA Private School Under Fire After Suit Exposes Disturbing ‘Kissing Club’ Scandal

According to a lawsuit filed against Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, a suburb of Los Angeles, the parents of a young girl say she became terrified for her safety after an alleged sexual assault on campus. The lawsuit, which was shared with KTLA-TV, alleges that several students secretly watched the girl while she was in the school restroom.
The filing further claims that younger students were pressured into kissing and other inappropriate behavior, and that these incidents occurred without proper adult supervision. Attorney Sam Dordulian, who represents the family, released details of the complaint on Wednesday.
The suit accuses school staff of attempting to hide what happened and failing to report the situation to law enforcement in a timely manner. The girl’s mother said she first raised concerns in 2023 but felt the school did not take meaningful action.
“As a mom, feeling powerless and unable to shield my child from something that could have been completely prevented is devastating,” she said during a press conference. “My priority now is holding accountable the systems that were supposed to keep my daughter safe.”
The family has since removed their daughter from the school. The lawsuit also states that the student described as the leader of the so-called “kissing club” is no longer enrolled at Sierra Canyon.
The U.S. Sun reported that it contacted the school for a response, but administrators have not yet issued a public statement regarding the lawsuit.
Sierra Canyon, founded in 1978, educates students from pre-kindergarten through high school. Tuition for pre-K this year is listed at $27,500, while high-school tuition is $46,300.
