Meet Adhara Pérez Sánchez: The 12-Year-Old Prodigy Taking the STEM World by Storm

At just 12 years old, Adhara Pérez Sánchez from Mexico City is already redefining what’s possible for young minds in STEM. With an IQ estimated at 162, higher than Albert Einstein’s and Stephen Hawking’s, Adhara is not only a certified genius but also a powerful symbol of resilience and ambition.
Diagnosed with autism at age 3, Adhara faced early academic struggles and bullying, leading her to change schools several times. Yet, instead of letting those experiences define her, she rose above them. Today, she holds two degrees in systems and industrial engineering and is currently pursuing a master’s in Mathematics at the Technological University of Mexico.
Adhara’s passion for space has led her to work with the Mexican Space Agency as a STEM ambassador, and she dreams of one day working with NASA and exploring Mars.
Her achievements have landed her on the cover of Marie Claire Mexico and on panels such as the Mexico Aerospace Fair, where she continues to inspire young women and Latinos around the world to pursue careers in science and technology.
Despite facing serious health issues, including a seizure and a coma at age 7, Adhara continues to push forward with unmatched determination. Her story is a powerful reminder that intelligence, perseverance, and passion can break down any barrier.
