Meet Alanah Poullard: 16-Year-Old Prodigy Accepted Into 60 U.S. Colleges With Over $1 Million in Scholarships

Alanah Poullard, a 16-year-old African American student from Jennings, Louisiana, is making national headlines after earning admission to 60 universities and over $1 million in scholarships across the United States. A second-year student at Midland High School, Alanah completed high school two years early, graduating with a 3.80 GPA.
Her journey began in her freshman year when she ambitiously applied to more than 100 schools. Today, she’s stunned by the results. “I never thought in a million years I would have gotten into 60 colleges,” she said. “It’s still hard for me to believe that I’m graduating, but I know that I worked hard for it and I deserve it.”
Alanah’s academic excellence is matched by a remarkable history of boldness and achievement. At just 5 years old, she made headlines after attending a Wounded Warriors event at the White House and receiving a personal excuse note from President Barack Obama: “Please excuse Alanah from school — she was with me,” he wrote.
By age 14, she had already secured a prestigious spot in a two-week medical internship at UCLA’s School of Medicine, becoming the youngest and only student from her state to participate. There, she even performed an aortic valve replacement on a porcine heart.
Alanah’s story is one of early ambition, academic grit, and fearless pursuit of excellence, a shining example of what’s possible when talent meets determination.
