Oyo Conducts 2025 JSS1 Screening Today

The Oyo State Government is conducting the 2025 Screening and Placement Exercise for admission into Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) today, Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olusegun Olayiwola, announced the development on Wednesday, stating that the exercise will begin at 7:00 a.m. across designated centres in the state.
Olayiwola advised all participating pupils, from both public and approved private primary schools, to come prepared with their writing materials. He also directed principals and heads of the various centres to ensure proper preparation and effective monitoring of the process.
To uphold the integrity of the screening, officials from the ministry and members of the Examination Ethics Committee will be present at the centres to supervise the exercise. The commissioner issued a stern warning to pupils to avoid all forms of examination malpractice, stressing that disciplinary actions would be taken against violators.
In addition, parents and guardians have been cautioned against loitering around the screening venues, as only candidates and authorised personnel will be allowed entry. This measure, according to Olayiwola, is aimed at ensuring a smooth and fair process.
This screening exercise reaffirms the state government’s commitment to upholding the right to education by providing equitable access to secondary school opportunities for every eligible child in Oyo State.
