Port Huron Father Fatally Shoots Teen Son, Injures Two Younger Children

A tragic incident shook Port Huron early Thursday morning when a father opened fire on his three children inside an apartment on Glenview Court, near Krafft Road and 24th Avenue.
Police said the shooting occurred around 6 a.m. A 17-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old girl were rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The 17-year-old later died from his injuries, while the younger two remain in critical condition.
Authorities confirmed that the children’s 44-year-old father was arrested at the scene. Before officers arrived, the children’s mother and their 20-year-old sibling fought desperately to stop the man, an act police say likely prevented even greater tragedy.
The investigation is still underway.
This heartbreaking case underscores a fundamental truth: every child has the right to life, survival, and protection from violence. No child should ever face harm in their own home, the very place meant to keep them safe.
