13-year-old boy killed after N.J. driver falls asleep, crashes into tree

A 13-year-old passenger in a car was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday in Pemberton Township after the driver fell asleep and crashed into a tree, authorities said. The 30-year-old woman was driving west on Magnolia Road at about 6:30 a.m. when she veered off the road to the right at about 50 mph, Pemberton Township police said. The boy in the front seat was unconscious but breathing when he was brought to an area hospital, police said. He later died of his injuries.
