According to an analysis by Parents Defending Education (PDE), public school districts in at least 48 states are employing “restorative justice” methods in student discipline. Shared exclusively with Crisis in the Classroom (CITC), the list compiled by PDE includes over 200 school districts. PDE aims to investigate a potential link between the adoption of restorative practices and the reported increase in behavioural disruptions in schools, asserting that these practices have often supplanted exclusionary discipline measures in many districts.
