January 26 2024- Tragedy struck in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, as a five-year-old terminally-ill boy suffering from blood cancer died after being submerged in the freezing Ganga river. The parents, driven by superstition and the hope for a miracle cure, believed the sacred river would heal their son. The family, hailing from Delhi, made the journey to Haridwar, where the child’s condition worsened. Despite the cab driver noting the boy’s critical state, the family proceeded with the ritual, resulting in the child’s tragic death, according to the police.
