Some Michigan families are facing uncertainty when it comes to school breakfasts and lunches. That’s because the program giving free meals to children is facing funding cuts. During the pandemic, the federal government provided free meals for students. When that ended, the state stepped in. “The state of Michigan budget included universal free breakfast and lunch for all students across the state,” said Dr. Carl Schultz, Superintendent of Bedford Public Schools.
