A 27-year-old PE teacher in Illinois has been charged after authorities allegedly discovered she sent explicit images to a 17-year-old pupil, triggering fresh concerns over safeguarding and the abuse of trust in schools. Christian G. Payton, who worked at Indian Creek High School, turned herself in on August 5 and faces four felony counts of official misconduct over the allegations.
