‘Crisis’ in Australian Classrooms as Student Misbehaviour Wastes 12 Weeks of Learning

Australian students are losing the equivalent of 12 weeks of learning every school year as classroom misbehaviour consumes about one-third of teaching time, according to a new survey of more than 370 teachers. Teachers reported losing an average of nine minutes from every 30-minute lesson to disruptions, prompting researchers to warn that behaviour problems have reached “crisis” levels across Australian classrooms.
