While Judah’s mom opted for a personalised curriculum during online learning, she noticed Judah’s writing struggles and behavioural issues upon returning to school. To address this, they hired a tutor, reflecting the effectiveness of high-dosage tutoring in closing learning gaps. Experts suggest Oregon’s lack of statewide consistency in interventions like tutoring contributes to its challenges compared to states with more centralised directives. Teacher training is cited as another effective intervention, but some educators feel undersupported.
