Universities are expected to admit more students with lower A-level grades this year due to a funding crisis and reduced demand from international students. With A-level results returning to pre-pandemic grading levels, the proportion of top grades is anticipated to drop to 25.4% from 36.4% in 2022. Despite this, universities, which expanded their capacity during the pandemic, are likely to accept more students with grades below their initial offers to fill available places.
