The Police Command in Ebonyi has arrested Ngozi Blessing Abia, also known as Mercy Francis, for abducting and selling children, rescuing at least six of them. Abia had conducted her activities across Lagos, Ebonyi, Anambra, and Edo. The investigation began in January 2024 when Nkwuda Francis reported that Abia, posing as a National Youth Service Corps member, had kidnapped his two young children. DSP Joshua Ukandu, the Command’s spokesman, stated that the children, aged 3 and 7, were found in Anambra after being sold by Abia, who had rented a room in the family’s compound in Nwezenyi Igbeagu, Izzi local government area of Ebonyi.
