Teen Seeks Truth About Parentage as Paternity Dispute with Davido Continues

The mother of a teenage girl claiming to be the daughter of Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disputed past DNA claims and alleged irregularities in previous tests, saying she intends to seek independent supervision from international authorities to establish the truth.

In a statement posted on her daughter’s Instagram account, Ayo Labinjoh emphasized that her daughter, Anu Adeleke, is seeking clarity about her identity, not financial gain or publicity. She said the ongoing public attention has caused distress to the teenager, including fainting at school and undergoing psychotherapy.

Labinjoh claimed that a blood sample collected in 2014 was discarded without being tested and that subsequent results presented to the family were false. She also alleged that individuals involved in the prior DNA processes misrepresented themselves and the outcomes.

The statement accompanied a screen recording of a private conversation between Anu and Davido. The exchange reportedly shows Davido denying paternity and asserting that five DNA tests had already been conducted, and promising to release results publicly. Labinjoh described the singer’s language during the conversation as abusive and damaging to her daughter.

Davido and his former lawyer have previously stated that multiple DNA tests were conducted at reputable facilities, all showing negative results. The mother now says she plans to seek an independently supervised DNA test, potentially involving international authorities, to ensure fairness and transparency.

The ongoing dispute highlights the teenager’s expressed desire to know her parentage, underscoring the importance of a child’s right to identity and clarity about family relationships while protecting her well-being amid public scrutiny.
