15-Year-Old with Autism Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Art Canvas

As Nigeria joined the world in commemorating World Autism Day 2025, a remarkable achievement took center stage in Abuja. Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, a 15-year-old artist from Anambra State, made history by creating the largest art canvas in the world, measuring an astounding 12,303.87 square meters (132,437 square feet 116.85 square inches).

The Guinness World Record adjudicator, Mr. Glenn Pollard, officially presented Tagbo-Okeke with his certificate at Eagle Square, Abuja, celebrating his extraordinary feat. His artwork, recognized internationally, was supported by the Zeebah Foundation and MTN Nigeria, underscoring the importance of inclusivity and creative expression for individuals with autism.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, the 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, Senator Victor Umeh, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, represented by Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole. Also present were traditional rulers, civil society organizations, entertainment stars, artists, media representatives, and students.

This historic accomplishment aligns with the 2025 World Autism Day theme, “Advancing Neurodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” Speaking at the event, Minister Musawa praised Tagbo-Okeke’s resilience and talent, describing his work as a powerful voice for inclusion and a testament that talent knows no boundaries.

MTN Nigeria’s Chikaodi Ofoegbu also emphasized the significance of this moment, highlighting how Tagbo-Okeke’s artistic journey mirrors the company’s vision of empowering individuals to push boundaries and pursue their dreams.

In his remarks, General Christopher Musa described the achievement as a monumental milestone for Nigeria, proving that impossibility is a myth. He lauded Tagbo-Okeke’s ability to overcome challenges and use art as a medium of communication and inspiration.

From an early age, Tagbo-Okeke discovered art as a powerful means of self-expression. Now, his record-breaking masterpiece has placed Nigeria firmly on the global art map, demonstrating that creativity and perseverance can transcend all barriers.

His story is one of determination, talent, and the limitless potential of neurodiverse individuals. Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke’s achievement is a celebration of inclusion, creativity, and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.
