Legislation proposes state intervention in student discipline matters

< 1 min read

Under proposed legislation preliminarily approved by the state House, schools failing to implement discipline measures upon teacher requests at least three-quarters of the time would face academic repercussions. Rep. Matt Gress, R-Phoenix, emphasized the need for such measures to maintain a conducive learning environment. The bill aims to eliminate policies discouraging teachers from reporting disciplinary issues to administrators and ensure action is taken upon receiving referrals. Gress highlighted the importance of addressing disruptive behavior to uphold the quality of education.
