Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) announced a new transportation plan that eliminates bus services for certain students starting next school year. The Board of Education approved the plan with a 4–3 vote. Affected students include those attending full magnet schools (except Central and Western high schools), magnet programs within schools, traditional schools, and non-resident Academies of Louisville programs. To support families impacted by this change, JCPS officials are developing a stipend program. Information about the impacted schools and the stipend program will be provided by school principals next week.
